Thom serves as the CEO of Performance Proxies, LLC along with its two wholly owned subsidiaries: Performance Advisors, LLC and Performance Visualization Studios, LLC. His entrepreneurial vision, leadership and energy complement his experience to create measureable advantage for his collaborators and clients.
Thom has over 20 years experience in business; he has been a principal investor, board member, executive officer, and/or top strategic advisor in 21 private M&A transactions with various stakeholders. The diversity of his business experience includes aggressive growth projects, M&A transactions, complex post-acquisition integration challenges, organizational turnarounds, and complex restructuring efforts through Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings as well.
Thom’s passion for organizational transformation has been the central theme of his work for the past 20 years. He has led various corporate acquisitions, transformation and restructuring projects throughout the energy supply chain over 16 years, and he has worked with major oil companies as a supply chain “subject matter expert” for the past 7 years. Earlier, Thom worked for 9 years at Roadway Services, Inc. (a $5 Billion transportation holding company headquartered in Akron, Ohio) where he ultimately managed a special project (250 million gallons of fuel annually) for 10 trucking companies covering 1,300 truck terminals with 350 bulk storage tank sites.
Since 2003, Thom has focused his research and client engagements on “stakeholder relationship assessments” including the economics associated with trade flows of products, services, information and resources among enterprise and industry stakeholders. Based on this research, he provides unique perspectives and intelligence regarding the economic alignment or misalignment of stakeholder relationships to corporate clients.
Thom is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), the Risk Management Association (RMA), the International Network for Social Network Analysis (INSNA), and the International Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI). Thom supports Junior Achievement, the American Cancer Society, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the ALD Foundation, the United Way, the American Red Cross, and Akron Children’s Hospital. Thom earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Akron in 1991.
